Fans of the sport of Beep Baseball are probably wondering what is PodCasting?
Then again, PodCasters are saying, "what is Beep Baseball!"
Well, of course, neither Beep Baseball or PodCasting have anything in common!
This is where "The Beep Baseball Guy" comes in to the picture!
Let me Introduce myself to all of you, I am the "Beep Baseball Guy!"
I am Stephen Guerra, a player on the Long Island Bombers.
I have been playing Beep Baseball on and off again with several teams since 1988.
The Beep Baseball PodCast is sponsored exclusively by the
The National Beep Baseball Association.
Beep Baseball is truly a world wide sport. Not only does it span throughout the United States, but it also is quite large in Taiwan.
PodCasting!
A term coined in early 2005, it originally was a combination of the Apple's IPOD
and Broadcasting.
The term has been modified where now it stands for:
"Personal On Demand Broadcasting!
Fundamentally, if you have a PC whether a Windows based or Macintosh, recording
software and a Microphone, you can start your own PodCast!
The problem that most individuals have and who are knew to this innovative form
of media, is that they do not know what to talk about or how to get their word
out on the internet.
PodCasting is free of any regulation by the FCC, and falls along the lines of
Internet based radio.
The fun part is wanting to take something you love and want to talk about, and
getting the word out and making it heard.

Ok, so what can I learn about Beep Baseball from this web site!
The Beep Baseball PodCast will teach you the following:
Beep Baseball is a sport dedicated to those with a vision loss!
Primarily for the benefit of those who are totally blind or partially sighted,
Beep Baseball is played with a ball and bases that beep!
Both the ball and bases both have two distinctive bepes!
The Ball which weighs just about one-pound, is a sixteen inch in diameter ball
with a mechanism inside of it, that when activated emits a rapid beep!
The bases, which stand anywhere between 48 and 52 inches high, are foam
cylinders which when activated, emit a solid tone, so it can be distinguished
from the beeping ball!
So how is the game played!
The game is played with each team having six
(6) players in their line-up, whether it be on defense or offense!
Each player in order to level the playing field, must wear a blind-fold.
This would include those who are either totally blind or partially sighted in
any way.
The game lasts for six innings unless their is a tie, which then extra innings
will be played until a winner is determined!
Each team has their own Pitcher and Catcher, who are sighted.
The object of the Pitcher, Catcher unit, is to put the ball in place so that the
blind-folded batter can swing their bat, make contact and race to either one of
the two bases on the field to score a run.
The game of Beep Baseball only has two bases, first and third.
This is adapted from the game of baseball so to prevent an increased amount of
injuries to the fielders playing defense.
The object is when the batter makes connection with the ball which is pitched,
the batter must determine which base is turned on and then begin a foot race
with the fielders trying to field the batted ball.
The batter must reach either first or third prior to the fielders cleanly
showing possession of the ball to the umpire.
The base is activated remotely by a "Base Operator," who at the point of contact
receives a signal from the home plate umpire, which base to turn on.
The fielders, must show clean and decisive possession of the ball prior to the
batter reaching the base, in order to put the batter out.
Their are three outs in an inning, and each batter that comes to the plate is
given four strikes and one passed ball as part of the at bat.
Their are six innings in a game!

The Beep Baseball Show #10! A Sound Seeing Tour of the Kahler Grand Hotel! Site for the NBBA 2007 World Series!
The Beep Baseball Guy, Stephen Guerra,
takes you on this in depth Sound Seeing Tour of the Hotel where all the
players, volunteers of each team, officials and friends of Beep Baseball will
be staying from Sunday, July 29, through Sunday August 5, 2007.
I attended the nBBA Board meeting in
March despite the incredible but usual snow for Rochester Minnesota.
I took the tour that was offered and with my love for history itself, I gobbled all that their was to offer with the Kahler
Grand, Mayo Clinic and its surrounding areas. I as a individual who is totally blind, walked countless times through
the area that would be frequented by all the NBBA members, so I could deliver
to you a Virtual Sound Seeing tour, so you can imagine being their and will
feel that much more comfortable upon your arrival.
We discuss your entry in to the lobby, how you should maneuver to the front desk, how you can get to your rooms
via three different staircases or elevators, the Pedestrian Subway and Mezzanine
level which could take you through to another hotel and mall. The many different shops for eating on the
Pedestrian Subway and everything else within a closed area within walking
distance. Enjoy the show and send feed back
based on your experiences, both negative and of the positive flavor.
